Kirk Griggs Ministries - Preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ
About Kirk...

Kirk is the Pastor of First Baptist Church, Geraldine, Alabama.  FBC Geraldine is known as a Great Commission, Acts 1:8 church.  FBC is one of the most active churches in North Alabama.  For more information about FBCG, visit their website by clicking HERE.

Born and raised in northeast Alabama, Kirk accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior on Sunday, October 17, 1993 in the bedroom of his home after evening church services.

In the 16 years since then, God has worked through Kirk in powerful ways.  He began preaching at age 16, and was a regular speaker at local churches and school Christian organizations such as FCA.

After graduating from high school, Kirk attended the University of North Alabama, pursuing a degree in secondary education.  He surrendered to God's call to full-time ministry in 1998, and changed his major so he could graduate sooner.  He graduated from UNA in December 2000 with a bachelor of science degree in history and minors in political science and geography.

While at UNA, Kirk was a member of the NCAA Division II powerhouse UNA Lions football team.  UNA won three consecutive national championships in 1993, 1994, and 1995.  Walking on as a freshman in 1996, Kirk started every game at longsnapper and was rewarded with a full football scholarship.  In four years (1996, 1997, 1998, 1999) the only game Kirk did not start was in September 1997 when he was attending his father's funeral.  He garnered the attention of the NFL, as 13 teams sent scouts to the UNA campus to see him snap.  All teams said he was "better than the guy who isstarting for us, but you're just not big enough." God showed Kirk that He had bigger plans for his Sundays.

After serving a little over a year at his first ministry position, God opened the door for Kirk to return to his home church, Trinity Baptist Church in Scottsboro, on Mother's Day in 2000.  In the nine years since, he has led many students into a personal relationship with Christ.

In 2004, Trinity called Kirk to also serve as Associate Pastor.

Kirk began attending the Birmingham extension center of New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary shortly after beginning his ministry at Trinity.  He graduated from NOBTS with his master of divinity degree in May 2008.  He will soon begin work toward his doctor of ministry degree.

In 2009, Kirk began his new ministry as Pastor of First Baptist Church in Geraldine, Alabama.

Kirk and Ashley met at Trinity, and were married on December 2, 2006.  Ashley teaches elementary school.  She also runs a craft business on the side, "Itty Bitty Bows and More"  (www.ittybittybowsandmore.com).
